Holy Redeemer

Prayer for the Second Week of Advent

“God of power and mercy, open our hearts in welcome. Remove the things that hinder us from receiving Christ with joy, so that we may share His wisdom and become one with Him when He comes in glory, for He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen”.

Angel Tree & Christmas Hampers

Advent … a time for waiting and anticipating; a time to prepare our hearts to receive God’s gift of His Son, Jesus.  To help us experience the loving act of sharing and giving to those less fortunate, we invite our community to participate in our Advent outreach project: The Angel Tree/Christmas Hamper Campaign.

Advent Project

On Wednesday, December 11th (ELF Yourself Day) we will be having two theme days at St. James to support families in need.  Please bring in a toonie/or any donation to support our Advent Project. Gift cards will also be accepted and will go towards supporting our own families in need and also to our sister support school.  In total we support 26 families.  Thank you so much for your donation and kindness in advance. Parents are most welcome to come and pick an angel from our tree in the front foyer. You can also send a note to the office and we can give it to your child to take home.  Please return your gift wrapped and place the angel tag on the top of the gift. We would like all the angels returned by Friday, Dec 13th.  Thank you in advance.

EXCITING NEWS from Mrs. Gorman’s Grade 3 Class:

Ms Gorman's Class is on youTube!!  They have entered the CBC Music Class Challenge and will be competing with schools across the country for a chance to win some music instruments for the school.  With over 100 entries in their category the competition will be tough but they had a blast singing "Shine" the new Paralympic Canadian song. Check out their submission at the following link!  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uGSCWaBj_ow

School Council:

HUGE Thank you to Mrs Ashley Picco and our School Council for another incredible Christmas Craft Fair. We received many compliments...a tribute to the organization, hard work and planning that went into this successful event. Thank you also to parents and staff for bringing in Baked treats.
