About Our School

Welcome to the St. James Catholic School Community. Our school is a Junior Kindergarten – to Grade 6 school with a population of 360 students and is located in Kanata, Ontario approximately 20 km west of Ottawa. The St. James staff, parents and Holy Redeemer parish team are committed to providing your children with the best opportunities for spiritual, social growth and academic excellence. With your support and assistance we can achieve our goal.

We welcome the new families in our community. We encourage you to become involved in the school as interested parents, as parent volunteers and as active supporters of the St. James School Council. This web page is only one of the many ways we communicate with our partners in education. To further promote open communication, our weekly memo is located on the school website along with a calendar of events.

We look forward to working with you to enhance your child (ren)’s educational experiences!

Catholic Graduate Expectations

St. James Catholic School prides itself in being a school that not only digs deeply into the Ontario Curriculum in all subject areas,  but also works hard to ensure that our students are well developed in the Catholic Graduate Expectations.

Catholic education views human life as an integration of body, mind, and spirit. Rooted in this vision, Catholic education fosters the search for knowledge as a lifelong spiritual and academic quest. The expectations of Catholic graduates, therefore, are described not only in terms of knowledge and skills, but in terms of values, attitudes and actions.
